Mental & Emotional Well-Being

Supporting health beyond the diagnosis.

Living with chronic illness can affect mental health, relationships, sleep, work, school, and everyday life. Likewise, emotional well-being can influence how people experience pain, navigate illness, engage in healthcare, and recover from stressful events.

That's why HEM Foundation integrates mental and emotional wellness into many of our educational programs, creating opportunities to learn evidence-informed practical strategies that support resilience, stress management, connection, and overall well-being.

Our programs are designed to complement medical care by providing knowledge, community, and tools people can use long after the event ends.

Webinars: Thriving Through Connection

Learning together. Growing together.

Our webinar series brings together healthcare professionals, individuals living with sickle cell disease, caregivers, and community members to explore the topics that matter most.

Sessions combine evidence-based education with practical conversations around mental health, resilience, stress, relationships, self-advocacy, and living well with chronic illness.

Whether you're living with sickle cell disease, supporting a loved one, or caring for patients, our goal is to provide practical knowledge that helps people feel more informed, connected, and empowered.
